At least that is what the analysts are saying that the leaked out specifications are of the much expected Google cell phone. However, nothing of the given specifications is certain or officially announced. The name of the phone, Google Nexus, by now, has become a word that’s become talk of the town in the gadget world and among the gizmo freaks.

Google Nexus is anticipated to be released in 2010, along with numerous other mobile phones that are to be introduced in the same year. What’s more, Google phone will not be available to all. Google cell phone is going to follow Google Wave style. You can get a Google phone only when you have an invite i.e. only when you get an invitation from somebody for Google Nexus, just like they did for Google Wave.

Going by the leaked information, the first phase of invites will begin with Developers getting it, and then Sales and so on. But like stated earlier, nothing of this has been confirmed by Google. All these could be mere rumor, but chances of that are very little. Anything that Google does or doesn’t do become the talk of the tech world. And why not? After all Google has become an inseparable part of all techie’s lives. Sometimes it seems with Google applications not around all our work will come to a stagnation. It sure will. Think of Google mail undergoing a crash. Or Google chat not working…or google docs getting stuck…I don’t know about yours, but my work surely will suffer a good amount of loss. 

There has been a lot of guesses about what the Google cell phone is going to be like or will Google actually launch a cell phone of its own? Recent reports say Google, if at all ever introduces a cell phone, will not come out with a regular cell phone. It may be a VOIP device with unlimited calling powered by Google Voice or some similar application.

Although Google has been denying any such news, rumors still keep surfacing up every now and then (may be because of the keen interest Google has been showing in the cell phone industry) . Also, a lot of people in the past have dismissed such talks saying Google, being a brand of software applications, it is highly doubtful that it may get into the hardware area. Rather it will try to strengthen its position in software section itself. Even if it gets, it will not be a thorough move into Hardware, instead it may collaborate with cell phone manufacturing networks.
